What Good Jar Is
Good Jar is a private digital journal for capturing good moments throughout the year. Your entries are personal and private — we don't share them with anyone.
What We Collect
- Email address: Used to identify your account and send password resets or reminders.
- Password: Stored securely using industry-standard encryption (bcrypt). We never see your actual password.
- Profile photo: Optional. Only visible to you.
- Reminder preferences: Used to send weekly reminders at your preferred time.
- Your entries: The text, dates, and categories you add to your jar. This is your private content.
- Photos: Optional. Photos you attach to entries are stored securely and only visible to you.
- Push notification tokens: If you use our iOS app and enable notifications, we store a device token to send you reminders. This token doesn't identify you personally.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't share your entries with anyone.
- We don't use your content to train AI.
Third-Party Services
We use a few trusted services to run Good Jar:
- Supabase: Hosts our database. Your data is encrypted at rest.
- Vercel: Hosts our website.
- Stripe: Processes payments. We never see or store your credit card number — Stripe handles that securely.
- Resend: Sends transactional emails (password resets, reminders).
- Google: If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and profile info from Google.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs): Delivers push notifications to iOS devices.
iOS App Permissions
Our iOS app may request the following permissions:
- Camera & Photo Library: Only used if you choose to attach photos to your entries. We never access your photos without your explicit action.
- Push Notifications: Optional. Used to send you gentle reminders to capture good moments. You can disable these anytime in Settings.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
Deleting Your Data
